During the May 28 Board meeting, the Wilkinsburg School District Board voted 5-4 to eliminate the district's student uniform requirement beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
As a result of this decision, the district will transition to a comprehensive student dress code. The new dress code will outline expectations for appropriate student attire while continuing to support a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Detailed dress code guidelines will be shared with families in mid-July, prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
