Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Wilkinsburg School District students will no longer be required to wear school uniforms. This change, approved at the May 28 Board meeting, provides families with greater flexibility in what students can wear to school.
As a result of the decisions, the district will transition to a comprehensive student dress code. The new dress code will outline expectations for appropriate student attire while continuing to support a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Detailed dress code guidelines will be shared with families in mid-July, prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
